I’ve been waiting to start this blog once our trip has really started, so, I’m posting today, not because I feel that our trip has really started, but because if I actually waited for that right moment, a year will have passed. I’ll have learned many lessons, have the packing list perfectly tailored for this journey, all the spots I need to spend a few more or less days at written down in my trip book and finally be able to say “Okay, I’m ready to get this trip started!”
Well, ready or not, here I come.
It’s my 16th day on Bali and thew time has flown by, two seconds ago I stepped off the plane, 3 seconds ago I left San Francisco, and 4 seconds ago I booked the ticket and five seconds ago I first started thinking about this trip. Here’s how this blog will work(for right now, cause obviously things change) I’ll post a summary of our time in a particular area or certain leg of the trip. Unlike my last blog, I won’t do a log of every simple thing I did, rather I’m going to put my blogging energy into the highlights, things I think are most interesting, notable, salient and sure some requests on things to look for if you have them. For example: many people ask about the food, so I’ve been taking note of all that, so don’t worry, a food post is coming. Another example would be pointing out the awesome crafts industry we’ve seen here in Bali, etc. Simultaneously, I’ll catch you up on the last 16 days, by each leg, which will look like this, Leaving SFO for Bali, Day 1-2 in Kuta, Day 3-5 Seminyak, Day 6-8 Uluwatu/Nusa Dua, Day 9-12 Ubud, Day 13-14 Amed, Day 15-now. Gosh I have some typing to do.
Here’s the update, Tomorrow will be the mark of the next chapter on our trip: actually getting off Bali, so in a way, it’s kind of appropriate to start the blog, we’ve been working out some kinks, getting out bikes dialed and falling in to the rythym of travel, bike touring, Bali and Indonesia. Next post will be a best of Bali, kind of a wrap up of what we’ve come across. This post is more introducing the logistics and apologizing for the delay. Attached is a photo for your troubles
